You may like to know where I got my cub, it was the 2nd motorbike I brought [the 1st being a triumph Tina[T10] ] I was about 11 when I got my cub I got it from an uncle, I got it in 4 boxes with a some spares [most of which are gone now] for £50 by the time we got it running I had got a rice burner to wreck, so it never got used of road. At the time I though it was a bit odd because it was bigger than all the other cubs I had came across. A few years past and I was coming up to the age when I could ride it on the road the year before the "new" law limiting riders you 125s or under I had my test booked but 3 weeks before it blew up ,well the top and bottom rings broke scoring the barrel, I didn't have time to fix it due to not being able to get +40 rings at the time. The bike then spent years in my kitchen much to my girlfriends horror my cat delight. in the mean time I managed to find the parts needed to get it running .than in 1993 I had a bad crash on a rice burner a gs850 and I lost my left leg with in 4 day of getting out of hospital I rode a friends thunderbird [Triumph] and I got my triumph TR6P converted [brake put on the right under the gear-stick] within 2 months and I was back on the road. Soon after my wife past her test and I tried to get the cub on the road for her but one thing lead to another and the cub was put on hold .due to me getting a triton cafe racer that needed a lot of work .It wasn't until the end of 2001 I wrote to Mike Estell to get it dated and found out it was 1 of a batch of only 40 and the most complete one of only 3 known to be left. Then the nightmare started I was on a mission to find the right parts things like the petrol tank was wrong as was the seat. Air filter. handle bars, chain guard, the barrel sump guard etc, you get the idea. 2 years later looking in all the bike mags phoning any lead I have managed to find all the parts bar the correct handle bars, you just cant seem to get 1"embraced trial bars they are 7/8 or 1"and braced[I could cut the brace out but I know I will get them some were] I would like to thank the following people for the time and patents in helping me with advice and parts Mike Estell ,Bert Greenwood, Graystone Enterprise, Barry Coops, Ray Small, Barry Coops, Sammy Miller and any one else who has helped.
