Pictures sure can lie to you.
From these, it appears I started with a shiny beauty. Don't mis-understand, this bike was in pretty good condition and I've done nothing to change that for the worse. But the paint you see sure isn't representative of the paint on the bike.
I have the most of the parts off the machine now, except for what you see and have arranged for the paint work to begin. I have no expectations of getting this bike back together for the next couple months. Below are pictures of how far down it is now. It's going farther. I'll try to keep the project updated here.
All the painted parts are at the radiator shop right now, being 'vatted' to take everything down to bare metal. The painter I have selected is Dave Woolsey of Dave's Coachcraft, here in Clovis, NM. Dave is a well known custom painter with a long history of show winning custom work for car buffs all over the US. We've spent a good deal of time making sure we both know what we want as a final product.
Colors will be a gold base-coat, with a translucent red (a.k.a., Flamboyant Red) and sliver sheen with gold pinstripes on either side of the red stripe down the fenders.
