This is a picture of my second 1957 Cub. My first Cub was purchased new in 1957. Prior to that I owned a Moped and delivered papers to pay for it and any extra money was saved for a better cycle. I remember seeing other guys riding around on Cubs and I could only dream of the day that I may own a Cub. I looked at cycle magazines like some people looked at Playboy. I remember seeing a Cub road test. I must have read that thing a hundred times. I finally got permission to trade the Moped in on a new 1957 Cub. I believe I paid $570 for it and I also remember that I didn't think it would ever arrive at the local Triumph dealer. I still remember the smell of the new engine and the long slow early rides before school. I would look at the chain as it spun around the rear axle and how the speedometer needle moved as I went the gears. Well forty-five years later I want to capture some of those feelings again. It's my plans to make this Cub look like the one I bought so long ago. In the back of my mind I can't help but think, I just hope I know what I am getting into.
